DIY Dishwasher Detergent

I found a recipe that I really like! In an effort to make all our own cleaning supplies I tried this recipe for dishwasher detergent.  It was easy, fast, affordable, and it works!  Our dishes come out clean, smelling great, and spotless!

1 Cup Borax
1 Cup Washing Soda
1/2 Cup Citric Acid
1/2 Cup Kosher Salt
6-10 drops of a cleansing essential oil

Use 1 rounded tablespoon of this homemade detergent per load.  I also pour a little distilled white vinegar in the bottom of the dishwasher.  (I have heard not to use the vinegar in the rinse agent compartment as it might ruin the rubber seal).
